How to install VMware tools in Ubuntu 16.04 x64 and Debian 8 x64

Hi guys,

Good news – VMware tools installation got way easier since Ubuntu 16.04 x64 and Debian 8 x64 😉 just do the following:

1) Install open-vm-tools from repository:

apt-get install open-vm-tools

2) Check that the tools are running:

/etc/init.d/open-vm-tools status

3) Profit :), well maybe reboot first 😉



How to install VMware tools for Workstation 11.0 in Debian 7.x x64
