How to start an application with administrator privileges using the batch file

The other day I needed a script to launch an application from command line with elevated privileges on my Windows 7, or to be more precise - to be given choice to run it as a particular user which does have the administrator privileges. After googling around I found this nice piece of code: @echo off :: Get ADMIN Privs :------------------------------------- mkdir "%windir%\BatchGotAdmin" if '%errorlevel%' == '0' ( rmdir "%windir%\BatchGotAdmin" & goto gotAdmin ) else ( goto UACPrompt Read more [...]

Oblivion (2013) movie review

Oblivion 2013 @ Wikipedia I finally had a chance to see the movie Oblivion (2013), while some praised the movie others did not like it that much. I had mixed feelings - first 1/3 was really boring. Then it got a bit better and then it was over. Ubuntu 12.04 i386 and GeForce 4MX (GeForce 2MX) drivers

I had this problem the other day - I needed to use an old specs PC (AMD 2800+ 1,5GB RAM, 20GB HDD and Nvidia GeForce4MX) and the only license it had was obviously for Windows Xp Professional which are about to phase out (April 2014). So the choice was obvious - Ubuntu 12.04 LTS i386 version. Once you do the install it is stuck with 1024x768 resolution tops which does not cut it so I googled around and discovered that the proprietary driver can be installed and thus it allows higher resolution. How to create a 1 GB file on Windows

Some while ago I wrote a how-to for the Debian. Yesterday I needed to do the same thing on Windows - create 1 GB file. Here is how it's done: fsutil file createnew <1GB_file.bin> <1073741824> <1GB_file.bin> is the filename, name it whatever you prefer <1073741824> stands for size in bytes, Google might come in handy 🙂 Obviously it's good idea to run it from the command line 😉 Credit goes to Patrick Cuff @ http://stackoverflow.com - Thx!
